Corporate History:
APS Materials, Inc. (APS) was founded in 1975 by four engineers with strong backgrounds in material science. Their goal was to provide a complete resource for Thermal Spray (TS) technology to industry. Today, APS is experiencing rapid growth as a client based provider of innovative thermal spray solutions for a wide range of needs in surface modification. The versatility of our staff and processes is reflected in the diverse clientele and industries we serve, including aerospace, materials processing, biomedical, automotive, and electronics.

Why APS?
Our engineering staff offers more experience in adapting thermal spray to the resolution of problems than perhaps any other institution in the community. For example, APS processes can apply and manipulate materials to feature specific surface qualities, such as bio-active/bio-inert, dielectric, semiconducting and thermo-insulating. Materials can be processed in powder, wire and rod form, and can include ceramics, metals and cermets. Precise thicknesses can be achieved through controlled deposition rates and robotically controlled spray parameters ensure concrete bondstrength. Multiple materials can be applied simultaneously, either in composite layers or as a graduating coating.

Equipment in high-wear or corrosion environments can be salvaged at a fraction of replacement cost. In addition, equipment treated or rebuilt by APS processes often exhibit longer life through improved corrosion resistance or better wear properties. Once a solution is found, specifications are drafted and the process validated in accordance with ISO9001 and other quality standards.

CerAnode™ Technologies, a division of APS Materials, Inc., is a leading Manufacturer of impressed current anodes and cathodic protection systems. This division makes use of thermal spray in the manufacturing of many CerAnode™ products, assuring long-lived anodes that can be applied to corrosion chemical processes and water treatment. APS is registered through world-renowned quality assurance systems: NADCAP, ISO-9001, AS9000, to ensure the highest confidence to our clients.
